The stars come out for coffee morning
The stars were out across the UK giving their backing to Macmillan Cancer Support| for this year's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
We were thrilled that Macmillan Ambassador Alesha Dixon launched our World's Biggest Coffee Morning with an appearance on Daybreak, encouraging the whole nation to take part.
Alesha also made a visit to corporate partner M&S Café in Westfield. There she met Macmillan Chief Executive Ciaran Devane and M&S Executive Director of Marketing Steve Sharpe, along with a packed café of Coffee Morning supporters.
Celebs cook up some treats
The Little Book of Treats, in partnership with M&S Café| and Silverspoon| showcased recipes from celebrity supporters. These included Gwyneth Paltrow|, Katherine Jenkins|, Sophie Dahl|, Claudia Winkleman, Rosemary Conley|, Lynda Bellingham|, Lorraine Pascal| and Melanie C|.
There were online-exclusive recipes from Lawrence Dallaglio, Paul O’Grady|, Edd Kimber|, Anjali Pathak| and Desperate House Wives star Eva Longoria|!
Carluccio's way
Throughout September, World's Biggest Coffee Morning Ambassadors Antonio Carluccio, Martin Clunes, Donna Air, Kay Burley, Penny Smith and Eric Lanlard made TV, radio and print appearances to encourage involvement in coffee morning.
These included appearances on The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Radio 5 Live and in The Observer Magazine, to name but a few.
Larry lets loose
Larry Lamb hosted our first ever live coffee morning on ITV’s Loose Women. He treated Carol McGiffin, Sally Lindsay, Lisa Maxwell and Andrea McLean to some delicious Victoria Sponge! He also popped into to Charing Cross Hospital to say hello to the staff and patients.
Celebrity make-up artist Daniel Sandler joined the ladies at Dolphin Square’s coffee morning, while Les Dennis and Hannah Waterman took part in Birmingham. There was a surprise appearance from Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell at Barclays coffee morning in Tenby!
A bit of Fry and coffee
And finally, @mrsstephenfry| hosted our online World’s Biggest Twitter Coffee Morning. Celebrity friends Dannii Minogue, Melanie C, Kate Walsh, Tim Lovejoy, Paloma Faith, Holly Valance, Rufus Hound, Ronnii Ancona and Ruby Wax all popped in to say hello.
