Mayor attempts coffee morning record
The mayor of Hyndburn, Cllr Colette McCormack and Seb Farrell, Macmillan fundraising manager for East Lancashire, will be attempting to break the record for most number of coffee mornings attended in one day tomorrow.
As 2011 is the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 21st birthday, Cllr McCormack is aiming to attend a huge twenty one coffee mornings, breaking last year’s record when the Town Mayor of Knutsford in Cheshire visited sixteen events.
Cllr McCormack said, ‘We want to break the record to raise as much money as possible’ and so she will be visiting coffee mornings in a number of different Hyndburn locations including cafes, schools, businesses and private homes in what will surely have to be an operation run with military precision to ensure the record breaking number of events is achieved.
Best of luck Colette and Seb!
