Cathy Scores a Perfect Ten
This is Cathy's tenth coffee morning. She held her first event in memory of her husband Peter, who was a very keen supporter of Macmillan throughout all his years, as his father had cancer too. Nine years later she has turned being part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning into a fine art!
‘It’s more than just me who brings our coffee morning together: there's Andrea, Lesley and all my friends and family. This will be a very big year for us and we have over 30 stallholders, now only possible because of generous donations of marquees from the local area. We have lots of fun.’
In fact Cathy has been an accidental matchmaker: her niece won dinner vouchers at the event a few years ago, through which she met her future husband. They got married last month. Not a bad incentive to get people at your coffee morning.
