Make more of your event online
|
JustGiving| is an easy way to fundraise and donate to charity online.
You can set up a page| for your Coffee Morning where you can invite people to donate. So those who can’t attend your Coffee Morning, such as friends abroad or colleagues who work from home, can still take part.
A coffee morning could even be entirely virtual to unite mobile offices, remote workers, or online communities.
If you want to use JustGiving, here are our top tips to make sure you get the most out of your coffee morning online...
Personalise your message...
-
Tell people why you’re raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and they are more likely to donate. Is the coffee morning in memory of a loved one? If so, tell people about it.
-
To encourage people to donate, why not tell them how their money can make a difference?
-
If you don’t have any personal photos that you can add to your page, you could use the Coffee Morning logo. A picture lets busy people quickly see what you’re fundraising for.
-
In your thank you message, why not remind people when and where your Coffee Morning is taking place? Then they can come along if they want, or pass on the message to their friends.
Let people know what you’re doing...
Include your JustGiving page in any emails or invitations you are sending to your guests. Then they know they can donate even if they can’t attend your coffee morning.
|Share your page with any friends or family so they too can donate.
Put a link in your email signature with your pages web address.
You can also share your page on Facebook| and Twitter.| JustGiving’s Facebook app| and the JustTweeting app| both automatically update your fundraising progress.
New! JustTextGiving
You can also use the new service JustTextGiving which allows people to donate to your page by text using a fundraiser’s unique code.
To set your code up log in to your JustGiving account|. Then all you need to do is share your code with your friends.
Hold a virtual coffee morning...
Use your JustGiving page, or use Facebook| or Twitter| so you can talk to your virtual guests who can then donate by text or JustGiving.
In the past we’ve had hosts of virtual coffee mornings send pictures of cakes to those who have donated| online or by text.
|
And finally, if you’re also hosting a real life, non-virtual coffee morning, why not post an update on how the event went and some photos from the day?
Don’t forget to send an email with a link to the page to your friends who have not donated yet and were unable to attend the coffee morning.round 20% of donations through JustGiving come in after people finish an event, so don’t stop after the coffee is cold.
And remember...
Around 20% of donations through JustGiving come in after an event finishes so don't forget to send round a link to your page (and maybe some photos from the day) to those unable to attend your Coffee Morning.
